Club Origins / History

Road Dawgs® was the idea of founder Mark “Mr. Tibbs” Thibodeau. In June of 1995 while riding to Laconia Bike Week with another New Hampshire Trooper, they discussed how great it would be to start a motorcycle club for police officers…the dream was born.

It took about 14 months to be realized. The club needed a name and a mascot that would not be offensive, or in any way align the club with deviant behavior, demonic symbols or any other off the wall ideology. They wanted the color of our rockers and center patch to be light and project a positive image. It was equally important that our colors not closely resemble any “outlaw” colors.

The first official club run was from New Hampshire to southern Maryland in 1996 for the National Troopers Coalition picnic. Time has passed since that rainy 100 mile run, we now have Chapters in 9 states.
